WINDOW SCAPE

Janice, Prims by the Water, has her cupboard scapes so will show my window scape.  I hook beside a window so at night sitting under an OTT light I'm very noticeable and don't want to be.  Previously I've been hanging a dark cloth to cover the window.  But today I purchased curtain clips and will hang various rugs in that space to hide my visibility and to enjoy another rug when it is changed out.  You can see it is dusk thru the top part of the window.
I hooked this rug in September 2022 and cannot believe it has been that long ago.  Sure do love a blotchy background.

It's slim pickings finding antique rugs during the Christmas season.  Guess I won't be able to find any until January.  Even then perhaps many would be sold.  So next old rug show will probably be the leftovers which  didn't make the first cut for the team or second pick.  But do have more on my flash drive, just not the A listers.

Happy hooking, happy shopping, gift wrapping or whatever is keeping you busy as Christmas approaches.

  1. Great idea! I do wonder what my neighbors would think i'm doing, since nobody knows what rug hooking is where I live.
Can you put together a show for old rugs that might be a good candidate for hand torn? Not always easy to find.

  2. How ironic! That is the rug I’ve decided to hook at my upcoming rug camp. I hope mine comes out half as old looking as yours!
Lots keeping me busy today…after I get off this iPad!

  5. What a great idea! You might end up having to hook a bunch of new rugs just to fit that window space. Your deer rug is a perfect fit there. My Ott light died several weeks ago. I'm so sad as it was one of the decorative lamp types (so it fit in without looking like a utility lamp). They are no longer made and, apparently, neither are the replacement bulbs. GRRRRR

  7. A great idea indeed! I love that you are going to have a window scape. The first rug you picked is perfect for your space too. Merry Christmas! Janice
