Wonderful Contemporary Patriotic Rug

This beauty is not an antique but definitely worthy of sharing.  It is also presently for sale on an auction site.
It was designed by Lois Trout and hooked by several Indiana rug hookers, as the label indicates.  If you would like to follow the sales or perhaps bid, you can find the rug HERE.
Gloria Patri in simple terms is a Latin phrase which means "glory to the Father".   If you want to learn more about the meaning and its uses check out the link HERE.

Someone did a great job making the label, and fantastic work by the Indiana rug hookers.  Happy hooking.

    So very beautiful and impressive. From the back, it looks like it was hooked in some pretty fine cuts. I think it's neat that it was hooked by many nameless people - other than the state group reference. It leaves the emphasis and focus on the rug - and its subject.

    What a beautiful contemporary rug. Very patriotic indeed. Reminds me of the Amish here who all get together to make a quilt. Janice
