Unless you've already seen it in the news you are probably wondering what the connection is. While I live in the United States was stunned and saddened on the fateful day in 2014 when Cpl. Cirillo lost his life at the foot of the National War Memorial.
Cartoonist Bruce MacKinnon drew a tribute illustration to honor Cpl. Cirillo and express his sorrow to his fellow Canadians. Bruce MacKinnon is an editorial cartoonist for the Halifax Chronicle-Herald.
Then Leslie Magwood, a rug hooker from Bridgetown wanted to express her thanks to MacKinnon so hooked a likeness of the illustration. To read more and see the whole story unfold please click on the link above the cartoon.
Hope you all have a good Saturday.

Saundra, Thanks for sharing. What a wonderful rug. And she did it on burlap? Hope the cartoonist takes good care of it. It is definitely a family heirloom now.
ReplyDeleteImpressive. Thank you so much for sharing.
