MY SHAKER HORSE

This week has been busy so not many loops were pulled.  But here is the scrappy Shaker Horse adaptation so far.  I wanted to do a few half pennies and will probably decide size and location as I hook.  You can see the original antique from which this is adapted HERE.
Usually I would have hooked all of the horse first.  However, I was afraid once it was done I'd not be interested in hooking the rest.  So chose to work around the left side before continuing with the horse.

Forgot to mention that my textiles being used are cotton knits, dyed cheese cloth, a woven fabric of unknown content and wool.  Some of that wool is quite loosely woven and would never use it in anything other than for scrappy.  That wool happens to be what was used for the mane and what I'll use for the tail.  Other thin wool is being used in the body and happy to have a place to use it vs. throwing it away.

Happy hooking.

  2. I love knowing all of the different kinds of things you are using on that horse. I really love how that horse's head looks. I have always wondered about scrappy. I even thought about doing that on my mule. It looks very nice.

  5. This couldn't be looking any better! Absolutely love the monochromatic color palette and your version of scrappy is wonderful. I would never know you used any alternative fabrics if you hadn't said so. Scrappy perfect! (Perfectly scrappy??)
