ROOFING DAY 2, 3 and 4

The house was completely shingled after day 3 but I was so over the noise of nail guns, footsteps on the roof, outside music and people talking that I couldn't stand to do a post.  The thought doing that just made more noise in my head even after they'd left for the day 😵.

Tho the new roof was done, they came back today, the 4th day, to install the leaf filters.  Wish I had taken a before picture of the debris collected on what was there before, but didn't.  So now my son won't need to come each spring and fall to clean the gutters out...hopefully they will just slide off now.

The front of the house in a pre-rainy Saturday.
Garage view ~ The owner of the company will come back to pick up unused plywood and shingles you see on the ground and to get his check.
Something else they did was remove a huge limb which was hovering over the house.  In this before photo below you can only see the thinner dangling limbs resting on the corner of the house on the far left.
No longer will that happen again, he trimmed a few limbs for which I'm very grateful.
Thank goodness there will be peace and quiet and in the morning don't have to worry about getting my shower and dressed early.  Bet I sleep like a baby tonight.

  1. It is hard to live with the noise when you are used to quiet. It looks great. And a bonus to get a limb trimmed. We have those gutters and they work great.

  3. Gee....what a big house you have Mummy Dearest!! Yay on one major to-do off your list. I might need to go away when the time comes to re-do my roof. Either that or I will end up in one of two places: The nuthouse or jail. I so get what you mean about the noise and interrupted routine. I've not been the same since WWR. It went on and on and on.... Thankfully, I was not living alone at the time so I had to try to seem normal...and I wasn't so accustomed to complete and utter "me-ness." Anyway...your new roof looks GREAT!! And hope those leaf filters work...I had some put in at the lake because, with those pines, the gutters were ALWAYS full...and, of course, there was not one to clean them out (or even THINK about having to clean them out...which, now for me, means repairs to the exterior of the house.)

  5. At least you have one major job you can check off the list now. We are thinking of doing some sort of leaf guard. Just deciding on which company. Your new roof looks good and I am sure you did sleep like a baby. Janice

  7. Great to have a major home repair crossed off your list. Hopefully that is the most major thing needing done.
Enjoy the peace and quiet 🤫

  8. It looks amazing. I am still impressed how fast they did the work and cleaned up and then they even trimmed the tree. So much of an improvement. I hope you slept very well last night.
