Oh, that's supposed to be BLUE BIRD of Paradise isn't it 😁. It felt so good to work on this big honking rug and enjoyed every second. Finally gives me a feeling of making headway when seeing this photo.
There's only a little background of my rabbits to hook and will eventually go back to it but this brief break feels good. Meanwhile, I'm also thinking about what my next backup piece will be once the rabbits are done and haven't decided yet.
In early April I'll be attending a rug camp an hour away but will stay there vs. driving home every day. By that point it might even be cheaper to pay for a hotel rather than driving back and forth each day. At that camp I'll be hooking my very first ever monochromatic. It will be a smallish piece but will be a sentimental piece. Will tell you more about that as the day gets closer.
Happy hooking.
Saundra
I just love the softness of your flowers.

The muted colors of this rugs flowers draws me in. Love it! Janice
ReplyDeleteCathy stole my thunder. I was just thinking at how soft the colors were and the feminine feel about it. It's going to be gorgeous.

I am absolutely gobsmacked at how much you have gotten done on the big, honkin' rug. Simply gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHave you turned over a new hooking leaf? You rarely worked on more than one rug at once.
Who is your teacher at camp? Sounds fun.
(BTW...if you reply to this via email, I may not get it. Email issues and they don't know why. ARGH!!!)
You’ve so captured the antique look for those flowers! Wow. I think you could probably take an airplane an hour away PLUS hotel stay and save!
ReplyDeleteLove the pretty colors you are using in this too !!! Can't wait to see what you will be hooking at your rug camp soon !!!
ReplyDeleteI love that blue bowl. I can't wait to learn about your new rug. I don't know if I have ever seen a rug like that before.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have the best day.
Love UR Mat!,,really coming along wonderfully!,!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE THE BLUE,!!
^^^^^^^What they all said^^^^^^ This rug is GORGEOUS! I said it before and I will say it again....you captured the wonderful antique "feel" perfectly. And I knew you would not regret the "bigness" as you initially did very long. Do I know my Mummie or what?? Wow...that camp is coming up quickly! Are you going to finally do your mom with the fishbowl??? Huh? Huh??? ~Robin~
