It's still officially summer, tho the temps the last couple days have been comfortably cooler. So will show you some pieces still up for sale in the summer theme. Here is Fisherman's Wharf circa 1920 (18 x 22).
An applique penny mat dated late 19th or early 20th century measuring 23 x 33.
An 8 point star with hit and miss dated between 1900-1920.
A dog rug with fringe around the corners. I've never hooked a rug and used the extra foundation as fringe. Since these are colored perhaps it was purchased fringe or yarn used for that. No date or dimensions were provided.
This is a very eye appealing rug, tho I don't want to hook it. This is hooked and shirred with birds on border. Made late 19th or early 20th century and measures 26 x 39.5.

LOVE that tri-color fish rug!!! Unfortunately, I've sworn off aquatic creatures until the Beast is taken care of. :-( I also love that penny mat. You surely do come up with some great finds! We were very hot and humid today...and the forecast is the same for tomorrow. Had to break down and turn on the air. Hate that.
ReplyDeleteI really like that Fisherman's wharf one. The blue with the red was very appealing to me. We have been having the air on during the day and windows open at night now. Wish the humidity was calm down some. Janice
ReplyDeleteI like the fishing theme it is so nice when we go to the beach and see the fishing boats coming and going.

Thanks for the show. I like the zig zaginess of that star rug but it needs something to ground it. Hot around here now. We've been lucky so far.
ReplyDeleteI love those rugs that have something to do with the sea. I really love that motif. I like the dog one too. Lots of inspiration there.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is Catch of the Day, though not something I would ever hook!
ReplyDeleteDarn! Forgot…sigh. Rugs and Pugs
DeleteI like the Fishing wharf too . makes me think of being in Maine ....nice & comfortable here today , but the Heat & Humidity return Sunday thru next week again ....
ReplyDeleteBeautiful rugs❤️
ReplyDeleteoh! the 4th and 6th {from the top} are definitely my cup of tea! the simpleness of the lone fish and subdued colors, but then the energy of that star and it's hit-or-mis-ness {new word!} thanks for the show as always!
