Another rug needed a fix, this is the before.
Here is the after, a task which should have been done in the very beginning. Can you notice the change? It isn't the change in color of the background, that was purely accidental for some unknown reason.
The fix was the outline of the Shield. If I had outlined it in the beginning it wouldn't look so squiggly. Oh well, another lesson learned.
Speaking of 'fixes'....I know what my next hooking fix will be. Won't share it yet, not until Magdalena's Double Horses is completed. At least I'll be ready to start something right away because the pattern has been drawn onto linen and have even pulled some wool. Would love to start on it but I've so many woolie worm bags and strips surrounding my hooking area. That area needs to be cleaned up before starting another project.
Had a frost warning yesterday afternoon so I covered my tomato plants. Not sure how much longer they will provide yummy tomatoes but there are few turning yellow and several small green ones on the vines still. A wonderful volunteer surprise this year.
Think it's time for me to pick up my hook and finish the Double Horses. Happy hooking.

I like the fix. We have had several frosts our tomatoes are long gone.

The outline does make a difference doesn’t it? Living near the woods like you do, how do you keep deer from eating your tomato plants and raccoons from eating tomatoes? My gardening attempt was a bust this season.
ReplyDeleteFunny how one little strand hooked as an outline can make such a difference. That is quite a hardy/healthy volunteer. We have beyond “frost” mode for a while and in full-blown freeze mode. About the only flowering things out there now are a few petunias and my two mums.
ReplyDeleteWOW wish I had a volunteer tomato plant like yours. I still have a geranium and petunias blooming. Crazy for the end of October. What a difference one outline would make in a rug. Looks good. Cannot wait to see what your next rug will be. Janice
ReplyDeleteGreat fix. I noticed right away. What a difference, but I always struggle with that fine defining line.
ReplyDeleteAlways a tease!
I'll have to admit, I had to look twice before I saw the fine outline. You eagle rug looks great.
ReplyDeleteWe've have some deep frost already. I pulled all my tomato plants. My husband ate the last yellow tomato the other day. I had an over abundance of small cherry tomatoes this year.
Take care, Hugs,
Julia
I like this fix ! Makes it stand out more. We have had several frosts , somethings are still growing where the trees protect them . Otherwise , time to cut things back
