Mystery Solved

Remember this old rug from yesterday's blog post?  I wondered what those letters meant.  Well the brilliant mind of Joan Strausbaugh gave me the answer this morning.  
She wrote me saying the rug was upside down and backwards and that was a date not a word...... 1940.  
I'll be a monkey's uncle....er, aunt. Thanks Joan!
