My forecast this weekend is that I will be hunkered down inside my home hooking. Hopefully I won't lose power and will have a warm house since there was a propane delivery last week for the furnace.
This is an update of progress (or lack of) on Shadow Sleighride. Like Lauren, I'm never happy with how little has been hooked. I'm going to try to do something in those 2 empty spaces between trees. Am going to attempt making it appear as tho there are trees in the distance. Hope it works.
Now for the weekend weather forecast ~ As most of the US is experiencing or about to experience, here is the winter weather advisory for my area. Seaford is in the purple area so I'm expected to be inundated with between 6-12" of snow. THEN...after that comes thru, there will be a rain/sleet mix (see the green color behind the host) which will be on top of the snow.
I've already put out my driveway and property markers for when, if when, a neighbor snow blows or plows. Have heard the snow will be heavy so this might cause limbs and trees to fall and possibly cause power outages. Sure hope not.
Hope everyone has something to keep them occupied and this time I do have hot chocolate in my cabinet. Happy hooking.

I am not looking forward to the storm, we are forecasted for 14" of snow and no ice. Ice scares me more than the snow. I've got firewood, groceries and a couple of unfinished rugs to do. Stay safe. Stay warm.
ReplyDeleteI put your town in my phone so I can watch your weather. My son and family are expecting to loose power and an ice storm. Its such a cold storm. Stay warm and safe.
ReplyDeleteI think your progress is great. Compared to mine, it's miraculous...and, like Sissy, your loops are perfect. Praying you stay safe in the storm and your power holds. That's quite a bit of snow even by Nod's standards and it will definitely be even more traumatic when it's not a typical thing for you. So far, I think we're not expected to get much precipitation but the cold....yikes, it's brutal. -50ยบ windchills is a bit over the tope for even us. My furnace isn't keeping up (but thankfully got the other furnace issue resolved and, hopefully, it did not damage the in-floor heating system.)
ReplyDeleteYour colors are so wonderful for this latest rug. Thankfully we are only getting 5-6 inches of snow from this massive storm. I hope all affected stay home and stay safe. Janice
ReplyDeleteLove how you are hooking those trees ! I find it tricky to use the lights & darks so they blend nicely . Looking great !
ReplyDeleteWe usually get that nasty ice on top of fresh snow fall , it is scary and takes forever to melt . Good Luck and stay warm & cozy ! We could get 6"-18 " or even more snow !!!! Just light fluffy snow this time with lots of wind and freezing cold thru next week ...BRRRR
Rug is looking amazing already!
ReplyDeleteWinter. Ugh. Will be interesting to see if the weatherguessers were accurate or just crying wolf.
