ANTIQUE RUG SHOW TIME

There are some newly listed antique rugs for sale.  This one is a stag offered by D.L. Straight auctions but they didn't provide a date.
A cat rug measuring 21 x 36.5 and hooked early 20th century.  You know me, I like the different colors used in the 4 corners ~ a version of my beloved blotchy background.
Red roosters hooked early 20th (26.5 x 38.5).
A peacock rug I borrowed the photo from an antique shop.
A geometric, and another rug offered by
D.L. Straight auctions.  Again, no date was provided.
Wool and cotton hooked on burlap, the date hooked in the rug.
Another cat rug the auction house called "raccoon cat".  Circa 1930 from Miller Carmichael collection
(29 x 34).
A star rug said to be hooked early 20th (25 x 37) from the collection of Barbara and Charlie Hunter.
And finally, Scotty dogs with no info at all.  When I saw them it reminded me of the two Scotties which would be at Barb Carroll's when her daughter was there.

That's it for this show.  I'm searching for my next fix but nothing here will make it to my frame this time.

Happy hooking on this rainy day.  Was in the 90's the last couple days and this evening will get to at or below freezing and with a snow mix.  And now this at 4:27....33* and that darn white stuff!!!!  The forsythia blooming and daffodils blooming along the driveway out.

  2. The colors in that geometric make my head hurt 🤦‍♀️
Not that I would hook them, but I do like the 1868 floral and the raccoon cat.
We had rain and falling temps yesterday. This morning it was 30*, sunny but windy.

  5. Ha ha...that raccoon cat cracks me up. It looks to me like a Tuxedo cat stuffed into a sweater. I'll trade you our weather for yours??? 3-5" predicted tonight thru noon tomorrow, then up to 2 ft over the weekend...both with high winds. Can't wait. FFS
