Leaf raking and other life's daily duties has slowed down my progress on the Giant Flower (Grande Fleur). As you can see from the photo below I'm just one flower and a little background away from a finish.
Today I sold one of my hooked rugs and have so many that I'm hoping Christmas shoppers will find me to purchase others. The antique adaptation of Early Farm Scene is on its way to its new owner.
Remember making cabbage rolls? Tonight's dinner is going to be "Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls" which is a lot simpler than the way I used to do it. Mine is still simmering on low since I wanted to do this blog post first. But if interested in seeing the recipe you can find it HERE. I used ground turkey instead of beef.

OH! You are so close. At the rate you hook rugs, it's no wonder you have so many to sell. Congrats on your sale ;-)
ReplyDeleteGrande Fleur is looking maaavelous! Congrats on the sale...I don't know that I even knew you hooked this one LOL. You are prolific! Great minds must run alike...I made cabbage hotdish (which looks extremely similar to your unstuffed cabbage rolls except I use condensed tomato soup, put a small amount of rice directly in the with the other ingredients and bake it) yesterday. Looking forward to leftovers tonight as it is always better the second day. That, with a slice of homemade Artisan bread and I'm a happy cranky crow. ;-) ~Robin~
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the sale of your rug. The new owner will be thrilled to have it. Cabbage rolls were a staple in my family growing up and we called them golabkis. (polish) I still make them. I do cheat a little and use instant rice which makes the cooking time a bit faster though. Janice

Your Grande Fleur looks great. If you don't deserve a cigar, try a glass of wine. It's even better. lol...

And congratulations on selling one of your rugs. I like unstuffed cabbage rolls and I bought some hamburger today and I may just make some tomorrow.
