ON THE FLOOR

Finally hooked, bound and on the kitchen floor.  Feels good to have this one finished since it was started in early May.  Still in progress are two pieces which were, at one time, a plus one ~ Ezra's Farm and Scrappy Shaker Horse.  So no new rug will be put on my frame until one of those are finished also.
As The Five wasn't quite over after completing the hand stitching the binding, decided to replace the elastic in a pair of summer pj's.  The elastic had lost it's stretch and rather than toss them and buy new decided to repair them.  Besides, these pj bottoms were purchased in memory of my departed mother who loved those gaudy pink flamingo lawn ornaments ~ sorry to those who also have them.

My previous post showed you a thermostat reading but take a look at today's reading which is even higher.
The meteorologist said we'd have downpours and severe thunderstorms today which would bring cooler temperatures tomorrow.  No storm or rain yet today in this part of Sussex county, but perhaps during O'dark:30 it will arrive.  Am happy my A/C is working and hoping you are keeping cool as well.

  1. We had a storm come in at dinnertime. Was glad I was home when it started. I know you are glad these chickens are finally finished. My curious mind will be waiting to see which one you pick up again. Yikes on the temperature too. Janice

  2. Awww!! Your chicken rug looks AMAZING!! And it looks like some perfect finishing as well. I didn't send you a message, but I dragged my rug without end out again and bound a little. Got a third corner in (barely) so I now have about a (short) side and half of a longer side to go...then I will still have to stitch on the hanging pocket. Yeah, mine's probably been hanging around since May as well...of 10+ years ago believe it or not. Yikes, still hot there, eh? We only had 3 days of it...then, yesterday, rain moved in and we had more than 2" in less than 24 hrs....a brief reprieve today (but mizzling nonetheless)...and it started raining again in earnest about an hour ago. We are completely saturated. And now we're back to chilly weather. Barely to 60 the past 2 days...and lows in the 50's again. I have sweats (two layers on top) again and am trying to talk myself out of turning the heat on. (I keep asking myself if I have the tolerance/wherewithal at this point to handle the heat not working if I do turn it on...and the answer is no, definitely not.) Love your flamingo jammies!

  3. Great finish. You make less than two months sound like a long time to hook and bind a fair sized rug. I say NOT! I am impressed you will not start a new rug until one of the others is done.
We had severe thunderstorm warnings…and nothing. We are already dry so I had to water…and I HATE watering! Hopefully you will get a heat reprieve.
