CHICKEN PAIR UPDATE

Also considered another name for the rug ~ Perdue's Pride.  That is because I worked in the office at Perdue Farms corporate for a few years.  But you probably know the name of this design more as the Chicken Pair.

Next time I take a photo think I'll use the other camera since the red isn't showing up on the comb and wattle in the photo.  Don't want to hook a brighter red because it can be seen in person, maybe a different camera will show truer colors.  Besides the change in wool color between the chickens isn't showing up well either.
Like most rug hookers it doesn't seem as tho I've achieved as much as I was hoping, but we are supposed to enjoy the process, right?

It is downright COLD in my house and outside.  I refuse to turn the heat back on!!!!!  Last night I slept with not only a blanket but also a comforter, and was comfy until getting out of bed.  Of course the rain and humidity added to the low temperature makes it feel even colder.  And it's almost June for gawds sake!  Oh well, this too shall pass and I'll soon be complaining about the heat and humidity.

Happy hooking, ya'll.

  2. Wouldn’t it be great if we could always capture the true colors of our rugs?
I think you are making great progress.
Miserable weather in Ohio, too. I usually sleep with an electric blanket until June, but mine just died last week. Will definitely be purchasing another before fall!

  3. Cold here too, thankfully no snow or ice. I hate being cold, so my furnace is on. I like your chicken, I too wish I could capture the true colors in my rugs.

  5. Yeah Bob turned up our furnace to make it come back on. I would have let it be and just grabbed more blankets. Been cold and rainy these past few days. Hope that N'oreaster misses you. Janice

  6. Your chicken rug is going to be awesome. Love the primitive style rugs. You're right, I don't see the red, but I trust it's there! Cold here too in north eastern MA. My poor bluebird's babies fledged just yesterday, I'm so worried about them. I did wish that I had kept the down comforter on the bed last night - might get it out of the closet later. So discouraging! I'm kind of glad that I haven't planted much in the garden - the weather has been so bad that I don't think anything would have survived. The peas we did plant still look good - they like this kind of weather! Jan in MA

  7. Looking good...and I don't even want to talk about "progress" anymore as I'm no even close to your league...or Lauren's...or Kim's...or probably any other hooker on earth. :-( I've not had to turn the heat back on as I've never shut it off. True story.
