ROLLING OUT THE RUGS

A few old rugs from my saved photos.  Gotta figure out how to get rid of the AI spell check as it is driving me cray cray as I'm trying to do the blog post.  I'm looking at the screen and the other words are following along giving suggestions and all I want to see is what I'm typing.  Can do a spell check later.  Or, my back-up proof reader, Lauren, will let me know what I typed wrong 😉.

Recently found this Rampant Lion listed for sale (26.5 x 42) and said to be hooked late 19th century.
I love horse rugs but this isn't my favorite.  Measures 37 x 50 and hooked sometime in the 20th century.  See that fold like down the center?  DON'T fold your rugs, roll them with the loops outward.
I like everything about this geometric, the colors and design.  Hooked in the 20th century and measures 31 x 57.
The auction house said this animal was a Lion, but I think it looks more like a dog.  Yeah the end of the tail is a bit bulbous and the straight hooked lines down the chest, but that is also the way the hair grows.  No date was provided but measures 35 x 42.  What say you, dog or lion?
The floral appears to me to be
proddy as it looks lush.  Given a date of late 19th century.
My little girl and her pet canary is an obvious Hutchinson design.
Before turning off the computer I'll buy a Norton Anti-virus protection as this new computer has told me the trial McAfee expires by 11 p.m.  And in case you're wondering, no it isn't smooth sailing with the new PC yet.  Despite plugging in the speakers to the front the only sound I get is humming.  I've done all the recommended fixes and still no sound.  There are other glitches, like cannot do screenshots either.

Feels like I've lost control of communicating and don't even feel like turning on the computer sometimes.  Guess I'll order Norton, ta ta.

  1. Rampant lion sure is fierce looking. Channel some of that and don’t let the d@&* computer get you discouraged.

  2. I say dog too. My favorite is that wonderfully-colored geometric. But "My Little Girl & Her Pet Canary intrigues me for some reason. Nothing I would ever want to hook, but it has an eerie, nostalgic, charm about it. Speaking of speakers...My old setup had speakers that were very good. (They were separate like it sounds yours are.) When I got my new pc/monitor/keyboard, I was told the detached speakers weren't an option...had to go with the built-in ones. They sound like cr*p.

  4. The fierce lion certainly is. Fierce that is. I agree about the lion vs dog - I don't think there are any long-eared lions? I know eyes are hard to do right, but the girl is sort of creepy IMHO.

Good luck with getting acquainted with the new computer setup, and figuring out the issues. I use the text editor on the computer to write my blog posts over a couple of weeks, then copy/paste to the blog. *So far* I haven't had the AI crap trying to tell me what I want to write doing that.
