WINTER SNOW

That predicted white stuff is here.  At 10:30 this morning the local news said Seaford had 5" accumulation.  It is still snowing and said to not stop until after midnight tonight.
There has been another weather update with increased snow levels expected.  Notice I am now in the 7-14" area and already the local radio station says Seaford already has 5".  That from the state highway spokesperson.  Wouldn't be surprised at all if there is another update later today.
Here are a few snapshots I took this morning around 8 a.m.  You can see the collection of snow on top of my birdbath on the left side.  Saturday I went out to place my orange yard markers along the driveway and along the road out front.  Tomorrow I'm supposed to get a delivery of propane and will assist the driver to see where my driveway is.  And, for those who may be kind enough to clear my driveway will be a guide for them.
Should have thought ahead and put out all my bird feeders as I'll probably have to trek thru the snow to put up more food for my feathered friends.
During freezing rain or snowfall, I place a stick along one corner of my recycle and trash containers so they won't freeze shut.
I did venture out to put up an additional birdfeeder and refill one already there.  The snow I walked thru was up to mid-calf and still snowing.  When I returned inside noticed a very kind neighbor was snow blowing my driveway.
Am planning to hunker down and pull some loops on my next wonderful primitive project.  Nothing to show here now but will in a day or two.  Stay home, stay warm and cuddle up to enjoy whatever craft or book you enjoy.

DAY 7 OF CHRISTMAS THEMED RUGS I HOOKED

During 2018 while perusing my favorite blogs I saw the most adorable sled hooked by Cathy of Acorn Hollow, which you can see on her old post HERE.   My heart went pitter patter when I saw it.  The following year Cathy said she'd received another in a swap so was offering a giveaway for the second one.  Oh my, could I possibly be so lucky????

Indeed I was lucky and hooked it in 2020.  Later I discovered it was a design from WCushing, in case any of you wish to hook one for yourself.  Thank you Cathy!
Weather is going to get very icy dicey here beginning tomorrow afternoon thru the Christmas holiday.  The rain will increase my pond and 2" more is predicted.  Will have temps in the teens but with the wind chill it will feel like single digits or minus.  That water will freeze and if the roads are questionable I will stay home until it is safe to travel to my son's house.

Right now I have 63% propane and think that will hold me thru the holidays.  Maybe I should also check my wine supply too🍷, lol.  Happy hooking.

Winter Sled

....or at least that is what I'm calling it since it didn't have a name.  It is a pattern by W. Cushing and a gift to those who made a purchase during the 2018 Christmas season.  Regular followers know it was a giveaway offered by Cathy of Acorn Hollow and I was the lucky winner.

Cathy already hooked it and posted it on her blog over a year ago and I fell in love with it.  The rug hooking group she belongs to had a pattern swap and a duplicate was what she received.  Not wanting to hook it again decided to pass it on thru a giveaway.

It is all hooked, just needs to be steamed and bound.  Since it is small shouldn't take long at all.  And now I've got to draw out my next project which is a delightful pattern offered by one of our own blogger friends.  To be presented in a future post.
Yesterday we received rain instead of snow and I was happy with that.  Snow is pretty when inside a warm home but not when one wants to walk or drive in it.

First on the Frame in 2020

November I was concerned that Mighty Whale might not be completely finished in 2019 and would then be a carry-over into 2020.  Happily it was completed and there is a new one on my frame now.  There is a story that goes with it, for you just new to my blog.....

Blogger friend Cathy (Acorn Hollow) posted about a giveaway she was offering in a November blog post.  It was for a pattern she had already hooked and I admired several months ago.  So when her hooking group had a pattern swap she received another one.  Not wanting to hook it again she generously offered it up as a giveaway.

How lucky I was to be the recipient of that gift.  BTW, as it turns out, the design is by WCushing  and believe it was a gift in 2018 to folks who made a purchase from them pre-holiday season.  I love the design so thanks to Cushing for designing it, thanks to Cathy for hosting the giveaway.

This is what I've accomplished so far and excited to get back to it.
Already two days into January and the stores are putting their Valentines items on the shelves.  Thankfully I've a plan to hook something with a heart after this one is done.  So, what's on your frame?

Happy hooking.
