Polly Minick Pattern Giveaway

Yup, you read right.... I happen to have an extra so am giving away the Patriotic Checkers Pattern.  It is a full size paper pattern that measures 22 x 22.
If you are a newbie hooker and think the Shields and crossed Flags would be too much of a challenge for you, how about drawing the stars all the way around instead.  Or just plain border.

These are the requirements:

The winner must be a FOLLOWER, shipping to US only (sorry guys in Canada and elsewhere),
and most importantly I must be able to reply to your comment.  In other words, if you are a 'no-reply' blogger you will not be eligible.

Leave me a comment saying you want to enter the giveaway for Polly's pattern and I'll draw a name Saturday.  This way it will give working folks a chance to enter if they only relax and read blogs on Friday evening or Saturday mornings.

Alrighty then.....now how to FIX or FIND OUT if you are one of those unfortunate "No-Reply Bloggers".  Thanks to a blogger friend, I was informed there was a way how to find out IF someone is a no reply and if so, how to fix it.

If you were reading my blog during the last giveaway debacle, a sweet person who was hoping to win the giveaway, was sure she wasn't the ill-fated no reply blogger, but found out later she was.  So if you want to find out if you are or how to fix the "no-reply blogger" situation click HERE

I hope lots of you will check it out even if you are fairly sure there's no problem.  I'd really like for everyone to have a chance to win as this won't be my last giveaway.  Just maximize your chance to win by my being able to reply to you.

Have a great evening everyone, I'm hoping to accomplish a little more hooking on my Chicken Challenge and maybe even hook a block on the geometric next time I post.

Ta Ta.

Antique Adaptation and Giveaway

I'll bet the only word your eyes and mind remember is the word 'giveaway', lol.  What is it about giveaways that grabs us and won't let go?  Because people (me included) like things for free.

This is an antique adaptation originally hooked in 1890 which I call "Two Roosters Facing".  I hooked and sold this rug a few years ago when my last name started with an "S" (just can't seem to spell or say the name).

The first drawing seemed a little smaller than I wanted so drew it out again a bit larger and hooked this one.  Which means I still have the first one drawn.
The first one measures 16" x 29" and is drawn on hairless linen.  Now before you all get giddy and excited let me tell you that there is something else drawn on the other side.  Not wanting a piece of linen to go to waste I drew something else which I'd intended to hook.
My intentions were to hook that old vehicle which was mine to drive when I was a teen.  Mind you that was 1958 and all my friends had fan tailed Chevys or Fords and I had this ancient black car.   So to spiff it up I put bright school bus yellow polka dots all over it.  My dad worked for the DuPont company and those dots were used to put on the floor for safety areas.  Daddy had some and thought I'd make my vehicle stand out.

Well, stand out it did.  I could not drive that car anywhere without mother and daddy hearing from people that, "I saw your daughter in Milton yesterday", or where ever it was that the car was seen.

I'd still like to hook that 'old thang' but other designs have over powered it.  So the Two Roosters facing or the vehicle is yours to hook.

I will make the drawing on Monday morning.  Here are the few rules:

~ state you want to win the give away in the comments section
~ be a follower
~ no anonymous or 'no-reply' identification
~ shipping to US only

Good luck to all of you and enjoy your weekend.

GIVEAWAY

Oh yeah, a GIVEAWAY.  In celebration of my birthday and holidays coming so soon thought it would be fun to share my festive attitude with my hooker blogger friends.

Previously I showed a picture of my new Christmas design which had just been started, and then an update.  So here is  now the finished hooked piece and I like it a lot.  It measures 10 x 18 ~ actually, you hookers know that sometimes in some areas it might be a smidgen over or under as is the case with this mat.  But the approximate size is between 10x18 and 10.5 x 18.5.  And I just finished hooking it and should have tugged at the right top corner to get a better and more straight picture, but didn't.
The outside one line border was a special gift oh so many years ago at Cape May when the multi-colored, dip dyed piece arrived.  It was in an anniversary gift bag and while I had no idea how it would ever be used in a rug of mine it has now settled nicely in this design.

So, in just 2 days, before noon, the winner will be drawn for the GIVEAWAY  for this Holiday Tree Ornaments PATTERN on linen to the lucky winner.  Sorry guys, not the finished piece, that will be offered for sale on my web site.

The requirements are that you be a FOLLOWER and no anonymous OR NO-REPLY messages will be included.  So, if you are among those who wish to remain "anonomous' with a no identity and NO-REPLY you will not be included.  Those e-mails go to my spam and will not be seen so not included.  Only those people whose comments show up on my blog will be included.

The winner will be chosen on December 4th before noon.  Good luck for those of you who enter and thanks so much for visiting.
