What To Hook Next

As I'm close to being done with Hester, I've been wracking my brain to decide what to hook next.  Briefly thought about hooking some more flower pins to take for sale at Cape May but that thought passed quickly.

Also thought of hooking Lucille Festa's Hobo Joe even tho I am presently hooking Lori Brechlin's Hester, a fall design.
And lately have also had neutral monochromatic thoughts and would like to experience that.  So I went thru the antique rug photos I've collected and thought I'd post a few.  Okay Kim.....FYI I'm not on any 'medications' of choice, lol so maybe these photos will make it on the blog.

There are a couple of these rugs which I find interesting and would be fun to hook.  But still I don't know what is going to be on my frame next.  What I REALLY need to do is clean this pig sty of a house and trim some limbs on some of my bushes.

Time for some yogurt and fresh blueberries and sit with a hook in my hand after.  Enjoy your evening everyone.

AH, a Hook in the Hand

In case you're wondering...no, the third rug isn't totally bound yet but WILL be done to take to Cape May.  I just had to put a rug hook in my hand again.  So I got the bright idea to make a few more hooked flower pins to put in the camp store to sell.  After three I realized they would never be done in time with the various stages required so decided to do something more enjoyable.
Ahhhh, that would be to pull out the Magdalena Folk Art Horse (mat size) that I purchased from Woolley Fox
I didn't start this until late this afternoon but it felt sooo good to work on something fun.  Don't know how you gals can go weeks without hooking ~ I'd go completely bonkers.  HA!  Or else I'd get more work done around here, particularly a wool dust free home.

At least there's something for me to work on crossing the Cape May/Lewes Ferry so perhaps I can settle down and do what needs to be done here before I leave on the 14th.

As a side note, I hook flower pins on excess linen that is too small to draw a design on and one which will fit on my small sit-upon frame.  I've even gone so far as to sew cotton fabric along the sides to give me that extra to catch on the grippers.  If you look at the flower pins again you will notice I even sewed two pieces of linen together to make it wider.  Waste not want now my mama used to say.

Have a great evening everyone.

Busy Bee and Giveaway

AH HA!  That last word got your attention didn't it?  I'll get to that part later.

Yesterday I was a busy bee and worked non-stop from the time I got up until about 4 p.m.  Well, I did stop long enough to eat breakfast and lunch.  It started in the morning with coffee in hand to cut linen for 12 patterns, then serged the edges.  Today I'll begin to draw the designs.

Next was start laundry while pushing the mower in Ben's backyard.  Since it was a nice day, when the laundry was done I hung the white things on the line out back.  Followed by mowing the remainder of the acreage, pulling some (not all) weeds and trimming some (not all) bushes.  So this old gal is moving a little slower today.

Finally at 4 p.m. after feeding my boy Ben decided to sit, relax and start some flower pins.  Am not done with the Lollipop Bouquet but since Cape May camp is a few short weeks away wanted to make flower pins to offer for sale in the camp store.
And now, for the giveaway part.  Heck, some of you probably already cheated and scrolled down to the bottom first just like you probably do with a good mystery and go to the back of the book and find out what happened without reading the middle of the book.....I know you people ;~).

Remember this wool?
Well I'm going to give away 1/4 yard of all three pieces to someone, but not the over dyed ~ I'll leave that up to you to either over dye or if you're brave you can hook it as is.  You can see the front and back of the brown, green and red in the photo.  The name will be drawn on Thursday, August 29th.

Here are the rules:

~ Must be a follower (I'll check)
~ No 'anonomyous' or 'no-reply' e-mails will be eligible
~ Only US participants (sorry, thinking postage $)

That's it.  Just leave a message on this blog post that you'd like to be included in the giveaway.

Have a great Monday everyone.

P.S.
Glenda, a message from you arrived but you have a "NO-REPLY" blogger address so will not be able to write to you and let you know you won.   Please everyone, check your profile (or maybe it is 'settings') and be sure you aren't a NO REPLY.  When you elect the 'no reply' blogger address I cannot respond to your message, and I refuse to post the name of the winner in hopes they will read and reply back to me.  I'd rather be able to send an e-mail to the person who posted the comment to let them know of their win.

FLEUR PINS

I had an order from someone for some flower pins and sent her a picture of the only 3 I had left but told her if those weren't suitable that I'd make more and what colors was she looking for.  These were the only ones I had left at the time.
Susan said she needed two for herself but another friend had seen hers that she'd previously purchased from me and wanted to buy some for her as well as for gifts.  Susan's friend wanted the white one (shown above) but that she wanted something to put on her red winter coat which has black buttons and suggested I make a black flower.   Hmmm, well, there are black Orchids so why not a black flower pin.  Plus, it could also be a Mourning Flower to wear for that unfortunate time of life.

Then I proceeded to hook a primitive black flower with a red center, then another black flower with a black and white texture center.  Oh, hey..... maybe she would like a black and white plaid or black and white herringbone flower with a red center!!!!  Therein became my challenge to make different flowers for her to have a choice.  This is the picture I took to send Susan and she chose row 1 #1 and Row 3 #1.

In addition to the narrow cut white flower above, Susan's friend also chose the flower on row 1 #4.
Prior to Susan's order I'd had a request for earth/fall color flower pins so decided to hook a few of those too as well as other colors to fill the linen.  So in this next picture, Susan's friend also wanted the flowers on row 2 #2 and row 3 #2.
Those were pictures before being put on cards and this is now what I have left which I recently posted on my web site.
This was a fun break, glad they're done and now I can get back to working on Wee Folk and will update a picture tomorrow.

Have a great evening, hope your holiday shopping goes without a glitch and please be kind to one another.
