Unlike Noah's Ark my animals are entering one at a time, not two by two. Not to worry though, you'll eventually see the whole rug and the antique from which I've drawn the design. So stay tuned.
I'm sick of this snow which has stayed around far too long. It has not been a good week and won't get better until sometime next week. There is a problem with my garage door as it won't open electronically. At first it was an intermittent problem and I'd use the manual pull cord to open then once returned home would push the door up until it connected. Next time it would open but perhaps not close. Now there is no sensor light on one side and I'm stuck in the garage.
Of course I could use the cord again but the last time I exhausted myself trying to get the door to connect at the top and had to call my loyal neighbor. I was frightened of having a stroke due to frustration and over-exertion and don't want to take a chance again.
I called the the company and left a message but don't know when they can get here to fix it. God forbid there's an emergency where I need to leave immediately.
If that isn't inconvenience enough, my septic tank needs to be emptied and cannot flush the toilets; or rather they won't flush out. So that causes yet another major inconvenience and make-do situation. The septic tank was emptied 1 year 2 months ago, way too early to require another empty with just one resident. Usually a family of 4 would only need to have the tank emptied every 2-3 years.
And, of course can't do laundry. I do take showers and wash dishes by hand as those don't require a machine full of water going thru the pipes. Have also called the septic removal company and they can't come until next Friday the 17th. Unless the snow melts by then they will have to go thru the snow before getting to the tank lid. So another annoyance with humiliating conditions will last several more days.
To keep my calm I say to myself "this too shall pass". And think of this nuisance as how my paternal grandparents lived so certainly I can survive a week or more.
Time for me to settle back and pull a few more loops so there will be more animals to share in my next post.

Oh dear, I cannot fathom not being able to flush the toilet for a week. I do hope they'll be able to come sooner. The garage door? Oh boy, when it rains, it pours. Or in this case, snows
ReplyDelete#2 is looking good!!!
ReplyDeleteARGH! You are dealing with a bunch of sh**! Pun intended. Sorry.
Maybe have your kind neighbor can open the garage for you and then leave your van outside just in case of an emergency. The septic issue sounds like a nightmare. As Sue said, hopefully the can come a bit sooner.
Sending good thoughts and a big hug.
Adding my good thoughts along with a prayer for you too that this cloud of annoyance and inconvenience moves away SOON! "Animal #2" is looking good!!
ReplyDeleteSissy stole my pun...and I was also going to make one regarding #2, but will resist....Nothing's probably funny to you at this point. I feel so bad for you!! I've had the garage door issue a few times already and I, also, have a dickens of a time with the manual re-engagement. The septic issue, though, sounds like an absolute nightmare. We had ours back up once due to some mechanical failure and it was awful. Then this fall, my septic pump went out. Luckily the latter caused a short in the lines and I kept getting shocked when touching certain things and the issue was caught in time. Are you sure that it is the tank that needs emptying? Or could it be something like that with your pump? Not sure what kind of system you have but that is, indeed, very odd. Your newest animal is looking great...love that wool you chose. I refuse, however, to say #2 looks good. ;-) ~Robin~
ReplyDeleteA long time ago we had an issue with our septic tank , we ended up call a Rotor Rooter Company , they were able to fix it . Do you have a company near you like that ? I just can't remember how they solved our problem .
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your frustrating problems ....
A good time to loose your thoughts in pulling loops instead !!!
OMG hopefully all goes well. Very frustrating. When I had a septic tank I would have it cleaned out every other year with my family. My mom could not open her front door today and had to call her neighbor. He said it iced up and advised her to use another one til Spring. Thankfully he was able to get it open, and thankfully she has other doors she can go in and out from. Always something when you own a home. Am loving the teasers on your latest rug. The horse is cute. Janice
ReplyDeleteEverything seems to run on slow-mo when there’s snow on the ground. Yes, this too will pass, and I sincerely hope it passes quickly for you. I am just sorry you are having to go through this. You do create some beautiful rugs. Mary @ Hilltop Post
ReplyDeleteDarn! Snow, car in stir and stuff in the can...ignore them & hook. It's hell on earth near here - awful. Feel like a brat for being frustrated with no electricity for hours and hours while others suffer. Safety shut offs causing that because the winds are still blowing. I'm 50 miles away from the inferno but we've burned before and the anxiety is real. I'm going to try to ignore and just hook. Best of luck with resolving all your stuff!!!
ReplyDeleteYour guy,,,gal!?! 😍 Is sweet,,,,,
ReplyDeleteSorry,,,sorry for all this crap going on,,, 😖🙏🙏

More snow squalls here today,,,,January has been snowy,,,,
Hoping ur tank gets pumped soon,,,,elaine
Dear Saundra, I have my own list of woes but seriously, you are having some serious major issues. You need to flush that toilet at some point. Years ago, I was using Javex bleach a lot and I was destroying the bacterias that make the septic system work. We have been here for 47 years and only had it emptied once.
ReplyDeleteNow I dump the bleach water outside and so far, I haven't had any problem. I hope that you don't have any tree roots growing inside the seepage pipes around the septic bed.
I used to have the same problem with my old garage door in very cold weather but this winter it's been so mild that so far, it has worked fine. We have a tiny blanket of snow today and the river is still open in some spots. Hard to believe for our area in mid January.
Sending hugs and sympathy.
