1909 Horse

Thought it was about time to give a peek of progress on 1909 Horse.  In a previous post explained it was a great purchase and a pattern by Emma Lou.  You may notice some Sharpie changes on the pattern.
So far those changes are the shape and points of stars and a few lines inside boxes.  Will probably make changes along the way to make it closer to the original antique.  But know for sure I'll be happy with this beauty when done.  What's not to like?  I love horses and love antique rugs.

Below is a photo of the original antique.
Today was a wonderful day to wash white clothing and hang it out in the sun and finish on low heat in the dryer to fluff up.  Yeah, am old school so love the smell of air dried laundry.

More daffodils have popped up in the yard and I see those prolific weeds growing by leaps and bounds.....which means soon it will be grass cutting time.

But before the grass will need to go out to take control of the pesky lirope which seem to spread like this year's flu.  Sure seemed like a great idea to plant them around the fish pond but enough is enough.  Must cut them down and place black plastic and cover to kill what is  underneath.

Happy Tuesday.

  1. It is coming out beautifully. I usually round off my stars, I prefer that to the points.

  5. It's going to be a nice rug. I love the darker red, not much a fan of the brighter red.
It will be a while before we cut grass. Still snow on the ground.

  6. Hi Saundra,
Another wonderful rug, my friend!! Love the colors!!! Nothing like the sweet smell of laundry hung in the sunshine!! Sounds like you will be busy in your yard, but I know you will balance it with keeping your hook busy, too!
Hope you have a great week!
    Heart Hugs~
