Guess Where I Was Yesterday

Well I wasn't here writing about it being May Day ~ my day was spent in the ER.  Not to worry, I'm okay.  This may sound rather silly to have left me so exhausted, but it did.  If you've ever had vertigo then you know what it felt like.

Until Thursday evening I'd never had vertigo.  I awoke in the middle of the night Thursday night to go pee and when trying to lift myself up from the bed my body felt like walking thru a 'fun house'.  Am sure you remember how disoriented you felt as a kid at the time.  Actually it was worse than that feeling because my neck is still feeling the discomfort of my head thrashing about to try and get my balance or focus.  I felt like the room was spinning.

Was taken by ambulance to the ER from the doctor office because of dizziness and nausea.  I was concerned that I may not be able to attend rug camp in two weeks, and worse, that I may be having a stroke.    My BP and EKGs were very erratic due to worry and stress so they kept an eye on me.  I was given a chest X-ray, head scan, numerous vials of blood for blood work.  So long story short all okay except I had vertigo, low potassium and sodium; was given a pill at the hospital for nausea and a script for dizziness which I'm still taking.

Yes, I am feeling much better than Thursday evening and Friday but am sometimes lightheaded and was left exhausted.  I'm ready for bed now but will force myself to wait until 9:30.  My grass needs cutting and I sat around like a blob today so hope I'm up to cutting grass tomorrow.

Almost didn't make a post today due to lack of energy but wanted to move the Harvey Magdalena on my frame so thought I'd muster up.  Plus wanted to see what horrible hooked has been done since being so disoriented.  Here she blows........
Have a great evening and hope everyone will enjoy the nice weather this weekend.

  1. It happened to me once like that. I got up to pee and couldn't even walk. I was so scared. I had difficulty getting myself up and it took me a while and several tries before I could even sit up in bed. I made it to the bathroom by holding on to the bed and the wall. I felt like a total drunk. I felt dizzy all day. There's more to the story but I'm glad to say that it only happened once. It must have been the inner ear playing tricks on me. Not a fun ting and very scary.

Hope you'll feel much better tomorrow.

    Your Magdalena looks great.

Just keep taking it easy please.

  2. Saundra, be careful. Low sodium and potassium can be very dangerous. I hope you are feeling better soon and keep a watch on those levels.

  4. Believe me I know your pain. I cannot sleep on my right side or vertigo kicks in. It only affects me if I rollover on that side or look up when I am standing. Just for your information the last time I was at the doctors office he told me that PT now is very effective against vertigo and can even stop a episode. My nephew is a chiropractor and he says chiropractor care is also successful against vertigo. The nights of waking up and my bed is spinning is horrible. I hope you feel better soon.

  5. What a bad experience. Hope you get to feeling better soon. Missing rug camp would be horrible. The grass can wait. Go back to your chores a little at a time.

  6. Hope you are feeling better very soon. Vertigo can be so scary! Leave the grass...the best medicine is a hook in your hand!
    Take care,
