Thankfully Hermine has been rather kind to us inland on lower Delaware with only variable high winds and some rain one day. The beaches, however, took a beating with the waves, high tides and beach erosion. But it could have been much worse and has been much worse before.
If my ferry ride to Cape May had been this weekend my trip would have been cancelled I'm sure. That's the one thing I worry about when visiting Cape May in September during hurricane season.
Today was rather mild but humid yet wasn't so bad I couldn't push the mower to cut Ben's backyard. Hey, the boy needs a clean yard in which to play, rest and..er...you know.
With Ned all bound now I'm presently binding Turkey and Tallowberries. I'm whipping the black cotton binding along the outer edge and will then stitch down the inside. So it will also go to Cape May for the show. For those of you just now visiting, Turkey and Tallowberries is a design offered by Kris Miller of Spruce Ridge Studios from the artwork of Lori Brechlin. If you scroll down to previous posts you can see both rugs.
Speaking of Cape May, where I'll be attending Rugs by the Sea rug camp, I finished a few more Hookers Pockets to sell. Had a special request for a pocket with blue texture wool and dark burgundy hearts which has been sent. So thought for the last one I'd make another just like it in case someone has that same color palate. Am hoping there is something for everyone.... light, bright, dark and dull.
Those are all Pockets I'm taking but will have a few other items in the store to appeal to those who celebrate upcoming fall and winter holidays. Will be nice to empty my containers of items since no longer doing shows. So am selling them a little at a time.
Hope everyone had a happy and safe holiday weekend. Soon, a friend of mine will retire and every day will be a holiday for her. That would be my friend whom I've never met in person yet...... Lauren of Rugs and Pugs.
Wishing everyone well.

I love replicating antique adaptation rugs but also design my own. Looking at old rugs in Early American Life magazine was my inspiration to learn to hook.

Remember Ned?
Ned is finally bound and ready to take to Cape May for the rug show. It is a pattern purchased from Woolley Fox.
When first pulling the pattern from my stash to hook thought that I'd hook it like the original which is shown below but changed my mind and went with a dark background and other changes. There isn't a label ready to attach to the back of my hooked version yet but when I have 8 new photos ready to print on fabric will use the antique picture as the photo on the label.
After mine was hooked I saw a photo of Jo Leedy Ritter Wick's hooked version and was sorry that I didn't hook mine like the original. Jo did such an amazing job! Just look at this beauty. Great job Jo and I'm envious.
Now I've got to finish up the last hooking on Turkey and Tallowberries so that one can be bound and taken to Cape May in 2 weeks.

Turkey and Tallowberries Update
Wow, I really am getting close to finishing. So maybe it is possible to have it hooked and bound before Cape May.
Just a little on the right side to hook then to steam, do pre-binding stitching and trimming then bind.
Meanwhile, today I had my EKG which was required by my eye surgeon as my other EKG was over a year ago. So many various doctor appointments coming up which is really interfering with my rug camp anticipation and preparedness.
So later today after the EKG (which the doctor said was fine) told myself not to think of the huge plate of doctors before me..... just one week at a time.
Now, almost dinner time, Ben has been walked and have poured myself a glass of Pinot Noir to chill and work more on binding NED. Remember Ned? Will soon show you a finished picture of him soon.
Meanwhile, do you believe tomorrow is September 1st????? I can't. What is worse is that I must now travel toward the beach area on the Thursday before Labor Day when folks are taking an extra day to have a long weekend at the beach. That is where my eye doctor is.
A day or so ago noticed more floaters and flashes in the other (right) eye. Concerning me was that it was in the form of a hair or thread which had dot floaters attached. Wasn't sure if I should call the eye surgeon or not since there is a pre-op visit coming up in September before the October surgery. But decided to call and they can tell me no problem. Or at least that is what I was hoping.
So I must show up tomorrow for them to check it out to see how serious and what changes must be made for my lenses for the surgery. OMG, this getting older is REALLY getting OLD and not for the faint of heart. Think I'm becoming more faint of heart.
Happy hooking, happy quilting, stitching or whatever lowers your BP.

A Tweaking I Will Go
Before putting Ned aside to finish the sports rug knew I had to make a decision on what to tweak. Something was bothering me, actually a number of places on the rug did but couldn't put my finger on just what to change.
* wonder if all the triangles should be the same color
* should the triangles be outlined in gold
* was it the purple flower outline bothering me
* or was it the pale grey strip in the butterfly and flower petals
I think the gold outline on the triangle will be a good move and will do that to all triangles today. Decided to pull out the purple flower outline and use the same wool as the hooked word NED, thinking it would balance out better. But something still isn't right.
Next tweaked was the gold outline of the center of the flower and replaced the dark gold with the brown red of the border.
Perhaps I should concentrate on finishing the borders, outlining the triangles and then decide what to do next.
But after my quota of caffeine and breakfast, there is grass to be cut before more rain comes. After all the rain my grass is unusually high and thick so must be cut today.
Happy Sunday to you all and glad to have you visit.

UFO's She Asked
Jennie (Over the Hill and Running) asked if I had any UFOs since it appears that I'm diligent in finishing projects. The answer is yes. Last winter decided to use a small piece of linen to draw a 12" square. Plans were to use worms and make a hit and miss chair or table mat.
Didn't like what I'd hooked, got bored and it has been hanging around since. One day between rugs I'll pull it out and probably pull out strips and do something else.
That is the only UFO here UNLESS you consider Simple Gifts by Karen Kahle still needs to be bound completely. I worked on it a little yesterday in the doctor's office waiting room and on Monday in the dentist waiting room. Like Lauren (Rugs and Pugs) since binding is not fun, it is a perfect time to seize the opportunity.
And, still have some of Ned's border to finish and then bind. But then feel my grandson's rug and Ned (Woolley Fox) were being hooked in tandem so don't think they classify as a UFO.
However....... in the past I had two rugs which stand out as long term UFOs but now finished.
As a relatively new hooker saw a cute design by Claire Murray named Strawberry Patch on eBay. Price was good and thought it a good idea to try hooking with yarn. Learned quickly that yarn was a beast to hook with (for me) . Not only that but the too clean, too bright colors didn't fit in my house since I have antiques. It would look adoreable in a child's room or a chipped white cottage room. Uh....I'll definitely sell it if anyone is interested. Anyway, after hooking the bunnies and a couple flowers put the rug away for a couple years.
The next to go on a very long hiatus was this geometric rug design I drew up. Well of course my thought was to use up all those worms which seem to multiply like rabbits but soon got bored. Think this was tucked away for like 5 years until getting motivated to use up more worms.
So my plan of action was to hook one block per day then hook something fun. Soon a lot of the rug was hooked and was motivated to finish it. My friend Evelyn had told me she thinks this one is a keeper and to not sell it.
If you look closely at the 'granny geo' you will see this was an early hooked rug of mine too. At the time of starting it didn't know how to make sharp corners and many of those designs take on a shape of their own and are rounded. I enjoy that rug now but it isn't on the floor....yet.
Have a good evening everyone. Am HOPING to post a finished (hooking that is) of Zach's Sports Rug tomorrow. That is, of course, if I get off this dang computer. Stay cool.

TESTING 1, 2, 3
While pulling loops on my grandson's rug pondered what to do with sweet Ned ~ those triangle sections along a border. That 'thinking' process made me wonder how it would look IF I outlined those triangles with a gold wool. Then it would bring the gold color of the horse and the gold border together.
On the photo above I placed a gold strip of wool along the top and left side. Also hooked in gold along the top left triangle and used the purple predominant wool as the center.
On the top right corner where the grey texture was hooked I've now decided I don't like that light color in a triangle at all. The blue isn't offensive to me but surely that light grey is. Hmm, am critically looking at the butterfly and flower inside now..... That is where my eyes go and those are NOT the focal point of this rug. Oh my.....
So now I've to decide:
~ what color or colors to hook in those 6 triangles.
~ do I use the gold outside line for those triangles
~ what color if any do I change the inside of the butterfly and flower
Me thinks this was a SHORT recess and my grandson's rug will be on my frame again soon until I figure out what to do to make Ned a worthy steed.
Meanwhile, today in Seaford there was close to 10" of rain fall. As soon as the torrential rains stopped I went outside to take pictures.
Above is the view from my garage to the shed. That water also encroaches into Ben's back yard.
A picture from my garage and toward my neighbor's backyard also filled with water.
Although I was sure I'd not be able to access my mail box decided to drive down to see what it looked like. Yup, entrance to the development as well as the roadway across the bridge is flooded.
This is the right side and to the right is a small bridge which crosses a creek which is overflowing and running across the highway.
Okay, this is Ben's back yard from the back of the house toward the shed, a photo shown previously from the garage.
Here is Ben's backyard and toward the wooded part of my property from the left side of my back deck. So much water and thousands of deafening sounds from frogs communicating.
Ahhh, one thing my ex taught me from his years in military is... "where there are frogs, there is water". Every time I hear the croaking of a frog I am reminded of that.
Yet, if you look at this and what has happened elsewhere with flooding, I'm lucky. BTW, I noticed an orb or two in one of my photos. I'm wondering if that is my guardian angel or family. Yeah, I'm sure most of you don't believe that gobbly gook, but I do. Each time I see an orb in a photo wonder who is with me. In case you're wondering which photo, it is the one from my garage toward my neighbor. There are actually two round circles. One bright and one below that which is another.
Have a wonderful evening. We each choose how we wish to live. I choose to be happy and try my best to spread that. Someday I'll tell you a story about what I wanted to be as a 15 year old girl in my small home town. A story told to the local police.

Checking Out the Border
Thought that before any more of the gold border is hooked I should see what it looks like on my monitor. The last couple times showing Ned may have neglected to say it was a pattern by Woolley Fox.
Think I'll set Ned aside for the evening and hook some background on my grandson's rug while I look at Ned. There are a few areas which are bothering me; well, maybe those areas would be those triangles on each end.
My initial thought was to have the middle on each side the same and have the four corners different. So I chose the blue for the right bottom to balance the blue strips representing Ned's mane. Then top righ used the grey faint stripe of the butterfly and flower.
Hmm, BUT... if I put the grey faint stripe on the left bottom corner it is too close to the butterfly and flower and not sure if I'd like that color on the top left directly across from the other corner color.
Am pondering putting the blue in the four corners and keeping the green/purple plaid in the middle. Or put blue in all 6 triangle shapes.
Me thinks working on my grandson's rug for the evening is a good thing.
OH!!!!!!! In yesterday's mail I received the fall issue of Primitive Quilts and Projects. And this beautiful crow is one of the patterns, a design by Pat Cross. Well you know it will soon be on my frame since it is a crow. And Walter is a mighty handsome specimen indeed.
Accomplished a lot today doing things not enjoyable: pulling weeds, cutting grass with push mower and riding mower, trimming limbs and bushes (still LOTS more to do), cleaning out fish pond filters, filling bird feeders. But hey, as an adult and homeowner it isn't always cake and ice cream is it?
But tomorrow I can have a free day to do as I please. Hope you enjoy your evening and hope tomorrow is a happy one for each of you.

A Gift To Myself
Look what was in my mail today. Yippee, a rug purchased on eBay. I LOVE crows and have hooked several which I display. Red and gold against black is very striking, so it had to be mine. The hooking is perfect. This was a design by quilter Barb Kemp who has passed, felt it fitting she get credit for the design.
Hey, ya notice the gold, red and black theme going here?? Told ya I loved gold black and red.
Now I need to make a decision on the border of Ned. The bold gold above was my initial choice.
Then looking on the shelf wondered if this gold would be better. Would love to hear your thoughts because now I'm confused. I look at the darker gold and think that is it. Then wonder if it is over powering the horse. Me thinks me needs to sleep on it tonight and look again tomorrow. Meanwhile I'll hook background.
OH!!! A hooker friend of mine had cataract surgery on one eye two weeks ago. She told me it was unbelievable how she sees color now because the colors were distorted before and now more true. Tomorrow she is having her other eye surgery. And an artist friend of mine had previously told me the same thing. He said the colors were way different after surgery than what he saw before.
Hmmm, which makes me wonder what the hell I'm seeing and no wonder why my eyes are confused. Do know that I qualify for surgery for the cataract in my left eye, am just hesitating doing that.
Dear Colleen, Lillalotta and Elaine, I'd love to personally respond to your kind comments to me but you are all "NO-REPLY Bloggers". There is a way to fix that; all you have to do is GOOGLE "How to Fix NO-REPLY Bloggers". Meanwhile, just know that if I don't send you a personal message answering your questions that is the reason why.
Have a good evening. It is steamy hot and humid here. My plans for yard work the rest of the week is over. Not submitting myself to such torture and possible health issues. Hmm, sounds like another day of couch potato hooking.

Couch Potato Hooking
Yesterday I trimmed tree branches, pulled up those horrid thorny things which grow into tree like structures and have roots like squid tentacles. Even tho weather was mild I got hot working in the sun. Today's plans were to cut grass BUT.... it rained overnight and into part of the morning so was too wet to cut.
Oh my, what is a woman to do but sit, hook and watch recorded movies on TV? Yes, it did clear up and Ben got his walks but other than Ben I've been a total vegetable all day. So you are wondering what I accomplished???
As you can see my primitive dark background has numerous dark wool even flat black which seems to really stand out. So does married wool which has red, blue or green in it. That's fine with me because in person it isn't as noticeable as it is in the photo above.
Oh, in case you're wondering or in case you can tell.... the red corner was the #2 wool photo in the previous post.
Tomorrow is Independence Day and not sure what the weather will be but Ben's backyard and the rest of the yard really does need to be cut. Maybe I won't be that couch potato tomorrow.
Sure wish I had a gardener, a house cleaner and a healthy cook on staff so that all I had to do was walk my boy Ben and hook. Boy what a life that would be.
OH... add a helper to keep my wool room tidy. Now that would be a help too. Hmmm, bet I have sweet dreams tonight of what I've wished for.
Have a great evening and hope you have a safe, fun filled and happy 4'th tomorrow.

Pulling, Planning and Deciding
With the butterfly, flower and some of the background hooked thought it was time to figure out where to go next. Went to the wool room and pulled wool but couldn't find the one that interested me. That would be the wool worms used in the hind left hooves of Ned.
Since 'most' of my shelved wool is color coordinated started lifting up all the red section...nope. Nowhere to be found. Guess those worms were the last of that piece. Hate when that happens. So went to other plans. Took photos along the way to see what strikes me even tho the colors don't show true with digital photos on the computer. Oh well...
The soft red wool above the horse is what I'm planning to use to hook the name NED. Thought it should be visible but not over powering. It is a red honeycomb wool and the gold really mellows the color.
For the first stripe butting into the points of the background thought to use the dark/bright red but am wondering if that would compete with the halter on Ned. OR, would it bring it together? Hmm.
Another option would be this brown red with a gold window pane. The gold would perhaps pick up and reflect the gold in Ned, it wouldn't be as bright as the halter on Ned which might be a good thing.
Then, above, is the red/orange plaid wool which seems to appear even brighter than the first photo.
Isn't this the way it always happens? Something you don't have now you want it. Even IF I had a section of wool which are those back two hooves on Ned maybe it wouldn't look good anyway.
So, at this time my thoughts are to go with wool #2, the brown/red with gold window pane. I would LOVE to hear your thoughts on this. Meanwhile, tonight I'll work on the letters and background.
Ya wanna know what is funny is that when I had that strip of wool with the last two hooves, I did not like it. The wool was really scratchy and wondered where I'd use it. So never underestimate the power of wool colors. After all look how that green and purple plaid turned out.
Have a great evening everyone.

Have a great evening everyone.

A Look at Ned
Decided to pull Ned (a design by Woolley Fox) off the frame to see if I am happy with the wool choices made thus far. The butterfly was hooked and wasn't confident in the grey/blue stripe for the center at first but the next morning decided I was happy.
The wool for the butterfly outline and the flower outline are from one piece of wool that generous Barb sent me in a 'get well' card last October. So it seemed only fitting as I'm trying to channel Barb and the inner child that I use that wool. And even more so since it is a purple; purple with a little poison.
The more green section is what was used to outline the butterfly and was a section of that same strip used to outline Ned's eye. For the outline of the flower used the more purple section of the plaid. Happy to have a little more left to use somewhere else in the rug along the border.
Must admit that I'm approaching this rug far differently than others I've hooked on my own. Fact is, just using that green and purple wool was like fun and freedom to experiment. Am sorry but do not know if it was Betsy or Rebecca who offered that wool quite some time ago.
Hope you have a fun filled and safe holiday weekend.

Monday Madness
Okay, it wasn't really madness but that was a catchy title. Today was hectic and busy. First thing early this morning was the arrival of the plumber... yeah, think about what they make per hour and it isn't minimum wage either folks.
Last weak discovered a leak in the master shower running from the shower head at the wall and running down the side and in front of the shower floor. So for the last several days have been using the guest bath. Of course I worried the walls would need to be ripped out, new shower installed along with a new floor etc. WHEW, I feel blessed to have only had a bill of $145 for an hour's work. Am definitely looking forward to using my shower again.
I know you want me to fast forward to the 'good stuff' the hooking stuff but.... since it is to rain tomorrow decided to cut grass. So right after breakfast and with plumber gone I cut my boy Ben's back yard with the push mower....half an hour. Then after lunch got on the riding mower and cut the rest of the major part of the yard with the riding mower for an hour. Mama is still hot and tired.
So now to the GOOD stuff. Had really hoped to make the transition from grandson's sports rug to the Ned design a day or so ago but that didn't happen. And, won't pull loops on it tonight either because I'm just too tired.
However, I did look at some wool and will sleep on where I will go tomorrow.
Think I'll hook the butterfly first and then the flower. As I always prefer to look in my worm bags first, came up with the two bundles you see hugging one another. My thought was to have the lighter multicolored stripe grey as the soft center but not sure about the outline yet.
Well of course there must be purple in the rug, it is a vintage design I first saw hooked at Barb Carroll's and where I was first educated of the 'neutral color purple'.
Now, whether or not this particular purple will be in the rug or another purple not sure yet. Just looking for a suitable outline for the butterfly.
The wool worms above hooks up rather like a soft paisley and is a piece of wool (I think) came from Dorr. It has gold, teal, red/orange. Might be nice to blend with other colors BUT do I need poison?
The wool above might be too bold and at odds with the horse color. Seemed like a good idea at the time.
So then I saw a piece of wool with green, blue and red. And who knows if that soft grey dainty stripe wool will end up being the soft center of the butterfly. You all know how I make a right hand turn without a signal at any given moment. Kim of Glass Half Full knows me as the Queen of Tweak.
Since I'm a tired will look at these options and others with fresh eyes tomorrow over coffee and after a nice refreshing shower in the master bath. I am the MASTER of my DOMAIN. Hmm, or maybe it is my boy Ben who is the master of this place.
Please be kind to one another. I believe that kindness and a smile can be contagious.

Switching Rugs on the Frame
All of Ned has been hooked and one row of background hooked all around. It was fun to play for awhile so will contemplate the colors for the butterfly and flower until he goes back on my frame. Looking forward to more play time.
Now it is back to work on my grandson's sports rug as I want to be sure it is fully hooked and bound by December.
Sorry for the short post but figure no one will be reading my blog since everyone will be busy with Father's Day celebrations. That plus I've noticed a huge decline in bloggers...sadly.
If anyone has favorite rug hooking blogs they visit which do not appear on my side bar, PLEASE send me the link so that I can add them.
Weather wise it has been fantastic here for well over a week. No rain, low humidity, low temps and the A/C has not had to be on at all. I open the windows in the morning when the outside temperature is in the 50's and close them when the temperature outside gets to be 70. That way the inside temp stays wonderful all day.
However, this is only going to work one more evening. Starting tomorrow the heat and humidity will rise and this may be the last 24 hours this great power saver will work to my benefit.
Have a great Sunday evening. And for you worker bees I'm sorry that tomorrow is Monday for you.

Having Fun with Ned
In case anyone hasn't noticed from previous posts, I adore Barb Carroll and her hooking style. Classes with her are cherished and never to be forgotten. So hooking Ned has been a journey in memories of lessons learned and am taking time hooking Ned and having fun.
Yeah, am disappointed more didn't get hooked on Ned before posting this picture and almost thought of putting an antique rug show instead.
Notice the mane and hoofs... Think I mentioned previously the mane was strips from my worms. Well, the hooves are also and different colors. I recall Barb saying..."It (whether it be antlers, collar, hooves, etc.) must be different and special". So that is what I'm trying to do with Ned.
The second hoof from the left is a piece of wool Barb gave me to use for the collar on CHUM (below).
Here is a full view of Chum. I'm certain it the same woman hooked both Ned and Chum. When I replicated the pattern there was a round circle on the dog's collar as if it were a tag, bell or maybe just a metal ring. There was also a ring under the chin of Ned so maybe I'll have to hook that in Ned as well. As you can see I covered it up with the halter.
Am trying to channel the child in me that Barb has helped me release in my hooking. Or at least with Ned I've allowed myself to be more free.
Have a great weekend everyone. I've grass to cut tomorrow LOTs of grass. Then will play with Ned a bit. Hope you are enjoying my fun journey with Ned.

Hooking Ned
Yes, I'm having a wonderful time hooking NED (Woolley Fox) and here is what I've accomplished so far. Ned's palomino body is mostly 3 or 4 wools cut and mixed but also similar values from my gold worm baggies (gotta use up those dang worms).
Ned's eye outline is a worm which is a purple and green piece of wool from a Barb Carroll 'give', the inside is two tails and a loop of another piece of wool from this last camp at Barbs.
Ned's hit and miss mane wool is from my blue worm bag and not all of the wool is the same but felt great to use up worms.
Tomorrow is a doctor appointment in an another town so will begin the binding process of Simple Gifts (Karen Kahle). Just love having something constructive to do while waiting (wasting) time in the doctor office.
Hey, Lauren, Ned is fun. Bring out your pattern and let's hook it together.
Have a great night everyone.

The Reveal and Feeling Nostalgic
Decision is made and here is the first of the wool pulled which I think may go in my rug. I'll start with the golds and reds first. Wow. I'm shocked to see how bright that 3rd gold wool looks in the photo. That is a double-sided gold which doesn't look nearly that bright on that side in person. What a difference a flash makes.
And here is the reveal. Yup, decided to go with Ned. Lucky me got this pattern for half off because of a very minor mishap in the back leg of Ned. Hey, makes me happy.
For now I've folded up my Grandson's Sports Rug and will play for a few days on a rug just for my pleasure.
Now to the nostalgia ~ While going thru a chest discovered some tee shirts I hadn’t seen in years. Several were shirts received at foot races when my ex and I used to do that on weekends for entertainment. In the beginning Bruce didn’t want to stay for the awards after the race but once I told him I wanted to stay. Damned if I didn’t win first place in my age category. From then on I made him stay until the awards were given out. I continued to win in the top of my age category often, plus you also learn your time.

The tee shirt I wore the other day was from a race in April 1992 when I lived in Columbia, MD. A 10K (6.2 miles).
Hey, that time ain’t bad time for a woman who was 50 ½ at the time of the race and for a 6.2 mile race, the longest race I'd ever done.
I didn’t particularly like 10K races (6.2 miles) and have NEVER considered running a half or full marathon ever (that was for your benefit Robin Carroll). Bruce and I mostly liked
the 3K, and 5K races for entertainment and exercise. I believe that particular Clydes 10K race was the last one I ever ran. Now I walk and the thought of running hurts me everywhere, lol.
Have a great evening everyone.

What to Hook Next
Was content working on my grandson's rug after finishing up Simple Gifts but now am needing something else to hook for relaxation. There are presently 31 drawn patterns in my stash from which I could choose. Problem is I'm not in the mood for some of them...at least not right now. But perusing the list here are the ones I'm currently thinking about starting....SOON.
One I'm interested in is Ned, a Woolley Fox design, and this is hooked by Barb Carroll. I took a picture of it at her home one May. Seeing another hooked version on Rugs and Pugs renewed my interest in this design.
I also have the above pattern named Have you Any Wool, another Woolley Fox design. This one was hooked by my friend Deb.
Also purchased Old Tom from Kris; so have two turkey rugs in my stash.
In September I will be hooking Be Goode Be Nice (above), another Lori Brechlin design and will have Kris Miller as my teacher and should be done in time for Halloween I think. And if not, I'll be in the 'hallows eve' mood and inspiration on my lap.
Moon Over Vermont is a Lucille Festa design which is also folded in a drawer of pattern stash. Definitely like this one too. Love the bird larger in comparison to the house, the moon with a dangling star.
See that gorgeous rug above which was hooked by Barb? It is a design by Emma Lou Lais which Barb hooked called "Moose on the Loose". No, this pattern isn't in my stash but when at Cape May one year purchased a moose design from Bev Conway called..." On the Loose". Bev's is a bit different and if anyone has hooked Bev's version I'd love to see the choices other hookers made with color selection.
When at Barb's last month I purchased a little wool for the Olde Hearts pattern you see above. Of course it is another Woolley Fox design and Barb hooked this one. After she first hooked it a few years ago I was in love and it haunted me until finally purchasing the pattern several months ago.
In my stash is an old design drawn on burlap. You read right...burlap, and guess that is why I never hooked it. It is #227 Primitive Horse when Margaret Lutz had Hook Nook that I purchased it. So I might put it on linen and hook that. It is a Lib Callaway design which is now being offered by Jeanne Benjamin.
OMG, do you see that gorgeous very LONG Stubbs Runner at the top? I have that design in my stash too and it is huge. This one I'm thinking of hooking this winter after Christmas. This would be a great winter project and one which I've admired at Barbs for years.
And if that weren't enough on my list 'to hook' out of the 31 rug patterns, here is one my friend Deb gave me. She must have loved the design because she bought it twice. It is called "Gossip" and is yet another design of Woolley Fox. The design reminds us of a metal sculpture in the Woolley Cottage.
This one above is what Deb started at Barb's last May. Deb made a few changes and made one bird an oriole since they are Orioles fans. Not sure what other liberties she took.
Guess you are all wondering what other patterns I must have in my stash. In the past I have sold some to weed out the piles because my interests change and what was purchased on a whim no longer interests me later.
Funny thing is that Simple Gifts was purchased last year on a whim at the November camp and ended up hooking it this May with Barb.
So you're right Kim, I'm a fickle hooker and can't believe anything I say about what is on the frame next. Guess you've been busy hooking since getting your paper done and the grass all cut.
Have a great Sunday and be kind to one another.
